Lessons of Time
March 30 - April 11, 1993
Art Space NIJI, Kyoto, Japan
installation with Mr.N's collection: painting, ceramics, photographies, toys, everyday goods and tools, waste materials and video
To think about the destiny of artworks and everyday goods in the time, in other words, to think about the afterworld of "Society of Spectacle"(Guy Debord), this exhibition consisted of correspondences between artworks and everyday goods, objects and images, words and sounds which come from Mr.N's collection.
In the video, Mr.N, an old art collector of age 80, continued to swim without a rest.

After overwhelming visibility of exhibition, where do artworks go ?
After utility of tools and goods in the lived world, where do they go ?
Cultural heritages and industrial wastes
Things deprived of freedom to be decayed and things attempted to be destructed ,
things which one wants to preserve and things which one does not want to save,
things which one wants to show and things which one wants to bury,
are they two sides of our civilisation of spectacle ?
Do you want to leave something ?
Do you want to remain yourself ?
Does Art remain ?
